Safeguarding Children Training: Level 3

Attendance Criteria: Applicants must have an advanced level of knowledge in safeguarding children

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the training participants will:

  • Be aware of National Guidance and LSCB procedures for Managing Allegations against Adults who work with, or on behalf of, Children and Young People
  • Understand the process of managing allegations against staff and agency responsibilities
  • Understand the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer
  • Be aware of guidance on ‘safer working practice’ and how to develop a code of conduct for your organisation
  • Understand what constitutes a ‘safe culture’
  • Have knowledge of the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) and when/how to refer to ISA
  • Be aware of how Quality Assurance and Performance Management processes can help keep children safe
  • Be able to assess the safeguarding training needs of their organisation
  • Be able to mitigate the risks associated with the internet and social networking sites
  • Gain an understanding of safe recruitment practices and their importance
