Safeguarding Children Training: Level 3

Attendance Criteria: Applicants must have an advanced level of knowledge in safeguarding children

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the training participants will:

Be aware of National Guidance and LSCB procedures for Managing Allegations against Adults who work with, or on behalf of, Children and Young People
Understand the process of managing allegations against staff and agency responsibilities
Understand the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer
Be aware of guidance on ‘safer working practice’ and how to develop a code of conduct for your organisation
Understand what constitutes a ‘safe culture’
Have knowledge of the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) and when/how to refer to ISA
Be aware of how Quality Assurance and Performance Management processes can help keep children safe
Be able to assess the safeguarding training needs of their organisation
Be able to mitigate the risks associated with the internet and social networking sites
Gain an understanding of safe recruitment practices and their importance
