Over the last decade, public concern about the impact of alcohol on health and society has steadily mounted. Particular concern has centred on the level and pattern of drinking amongst young people and its consequences on health, crime, violence and anti-social behaviour.

This course will explore the extent of the problem and consider what is being done to prevent problems. Reference will be made to Every Child Matters, Youth Action Plan, NICE guidance, the Chief Medical Officer’s guidance and other key documents.
