Mental health services, be they community, acute or forensic, have recently experienced a dramatic increase in the numbers of clients who present with a potent mix of mental health problems and active drug misuse. This course, designed for drug and alcohol workers who may come into contact with such clients, examines the nature of active drug misuse and its interaction with mental illness.

  • To examine the concept of dual diagnosis
  • To consider drug use, mental illness and risk
